I came across this talk from a recent Social Media & Critical Care (SMACC) conference in Sydney. The talk is by Colin Parker, MD of empem.org fame (a site well worth a visit). He provides a very brief (6 minute) talk chalked full of high-yield facts. As every Emergency Physician will tell you taking care of ‘sick’ children will always drive one’s blood pressure up a little bit so having a systematic approach is critical. The first step to recognizing the abnormal is familiarity with normal as Dr Parker mentions. Enjoy!
